Exploring the Southwest, Telling Stories, and Helping You Find Great Places
What could be more interesting than two women, a cat, the occasional chicken, and kids taking a road trip in a solar-powered travel trailer? Probably lots of things! But, if you find our stories interesting, definitely stick around for that. We try to post an adventure at least once a month.
At the same time, we know that some people aren’t here for a story. Maybe you’re looking for a place to visit in the Southwest US. Maybe you’re wanting to see what a particular campsite is like. We’re hoping to cover you there, too!
About Us

Jennifer Sensiba is a long-time outdoor adventurer. She comes from a family that regularly got into backpacking, RV camping, scouts, and many other outdoor activities. As a kid, you could often find her out in the desert outside of El Paso, Texas exploring and sometimes getting into trouble. She’d regularly encounter bobcats, coyotes, and the occasional deer or mountain lion near the North Franklin Mountains.

Laura Crawford came from a very different background. Not only was the environment she grew up in (the green, humid piedmont region of North Carolina) basically the opposite of where Jennifer grew up, but she had never spent a night under the stars. What usually took her outside was her love of animals. Laura is a very active rescuer of dogs, cats, and just about any animal in need.
When Laura came to New Mexico to start a new life with Jennifer, they had to find ways to combine their different outdoor passions. It started with nature drives, where they’d try to spot wild animals near Cloudcroft, in the Black Range, and around the extinct volcanoes of Doña Ana County. Sadly, their first tent camping trip proved to be a disaster. Eventually, Jenn and Laura settled on an RV to not only camp in comfort, but to bring special needs animals along.

Mouse is a Russian Blue or Korat cat who showed up severely injured and malnourished outside of Jenn and Laura’s house. With multiple vet visits and intensive care, she survived and mostly healed. But, she tragically has a mouth condition called stomatitis. She needs daily medication that must be put on her gums, and Jenn is the only one who can wrangle her to administer it. So, Mouse comes along on all adventures away from home overnight, sleeping in a custom loft in Jenn and Laura’s travel trailer.
Jenn, Jenn’s kids, Laura, and Mouse share their camping and outdoor adventures here at Desert Bloom RV Adventures.
